FAQ

When is the best time of year to take senior portraits?

I recommend scheduling your senior portrait session between the end of your junior year and early fall in senior year of high school. The exact timing can vary depending on your preferences and the deadlines set by your school or yearbook committee. It's always a good idea to plan ahead, especially if we need to reschedule due to unpredictable weather. This allows ample time for editing to avoid any rush fees.

Are adults required to be present for high school senior portraits?

Yes, it is required that high school seniors have an adult or guardian accompany them to their photo session. It also states in my contract that an adult must be present. Having an adult present ensures safety, provides support, and helps maintain a professional environment. This does not apply to college graduates.

What are some popular location ideas for seniors?

Popular locations for senior portraits include outdoor settings such as parks, urban/city areas, riverfront, or even specific landmarks. There is also a studio option at an extra cost. Some seniors may also choose to have their sessions at meaningful locations like their school or a favorite place. Ultimately, the best location for senior portraits depends on your personal style, interests and overall look of what you want to achieve.

How long until I receive my gallery?

The turnaround time for receiving your final digital gallery can vary depending on multiple factors. I do estimate a 4-week turnaround time, but I do strive to get them out sooner than that. It's best to inquire about the estimated delivery time when booking your session. I do send or post a few sneak peeks within the first week of your session. There is always a lot of excitement when that happens. If you need your gallery sooner, there is a rush delivery fee of $150. Just let me know in advance and we can adjust the timeline.

Can I bring props or friends to participate in my session?

Yes, many seniors choose to incorporate props or include friends in their senior photos to make them more personalized and memorable. Discuss your ideas with me beforehand to ensure I can accommodate your requests. Adding friends and family to your session can require an extra charge and possibly more time depending on what is needed.

What happens if the weather is unfavorable on the day of an outdoor shoot?

If the weather doesn't cooperate on the day of an outdoor shoot, we will reschedule. We want to ensure the best possible outcome for your photos, and we're flexible in adapting to unforeseen circumstances.
